According to the Mirror: 'Van Gaal is set for another mega-money summer spree and is hoping to wrap up deals for defenders, Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels and Southampton's Nathaniel Clyne, plus PSV winger Memphis Depay.'

...it seems that they have made a commitment to a £24m move for Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo instead. They cannot buy both because of pesky FFP so have to buy Negredo, who has scored just five goals in 27 appearances for the Spanish club.

That leaves Falcao still looking for a club; it's now taken as read that Manchester United will pursue Edinson Cavani rather than complete a permanent deal for the Colombian who has struggled at Old Trafford.
